Anti-Southern Cartel wants to ignore the Citizens again ...

As the Legislature comes down to the final days, the anti-Southern Cartel (politically correct politicians, liberal media and large Atlanta corporations) are pulling out the stops to force their agenda on the People of Georgia.

All over the State the media is reporting the latest wheeling and dealing. Those People will trade opposition on fixing the gerrymandered districts in Georgia for a secret deal on Our State Flag. While at first this was reported as rumor, the existence of this effort has been confirmed by members of the Legislature of both parties.

Funny thing, no one involved knows for sure who is involved. Yea, right! But that is not a surprise, after all that would be public disclosure. It would mean that the Legislature believes that you, the citizens that they are sworn to represent actually have a right to know what is going on!

Lets see, the Black Caucus (at least they are public about their wheeling and dealing on this issue) and a few other Senators (and probably some Representatives as well) will offer to withdraw their support for the Barnes partisan districts drawn in 2001 in exchange for ...

Now this is an interesting concept. I believe that the concept Our Founding Fathers established was that elected officials should execute their sworn duties based upon the best interests of their constituents and support for the US and State Constitutions. Just to be safe I got the Constitutions out and looked again, no where could I find anything that would support drawing bad districts and then selling their correction to the highest bidder.

On the other side, we have already seen the agreement to throw away $280,000 (estimate) of the tax payers money for a temporary flag that nobody wants, hold two referendums and then delay the return of the People's Flag for an additional year until May 2005. Now going back to sworn duty and supporting the US and State Constitution, where do they justify selling the People's Referendum to the highest bidder?  No wonder these folks are not eager to have their names known to the people that they are supposed to represent. When we find out we will publish them and again in 2004.

Lets make one thing perfectly clear. We have never had a State Flag problem. Our TRUE State Flag was changed in 1956 to Honor Georgia Veterans. On most flagpoles you had the US flag which honors US Veterans and the State Flag which Honored Georgia's Confederate Veterans. Not a bad idea huh? The State prospered under this Flag. All Georgians prospered under this Flag, regardless of race, religion or national origin.

The problem is that political correctness is running a mock, so they made an issue where none existed. They literally created the problem. The major media have jumped on the politically correct bandwagon and have become part of the problem. The large Atlanta corporations have started using YOUR money to further political correctness and have become part of the problem. This whole issue is simply an issue generated by the politically correct so that they could force their agenda upon YOU, either with or without your agreement.

Our major problem is that too many elected officials in the State Government are responding to these special interests and ignoring their sworn oath to represent the people of their districts.  Without special interests and out of control political correctness this issue could have been solved in 2001 with a vote of the people or at any time since, if it had even come up. They are the ones who keep insisting on secret flags and secret deals.

The people did vote in 2002 and we moved a little closer to settling the issue. So as a reminder to the elected officials of the State Government no matter what you do, the People will vote again in 2004 and 2006. The shenanigans in the Legislature are being recorded and will be made available in Voter Guides next year. This is what will truly bring a New Day in Georgia, public disclosure and knowledge before entering the voting booth. In fact we will be presenting our Wall Of Shame on several issues when this Session finally ends.

Perhaps some members of the State Government should spend some time between Sessions learning a little bit about Thomas Jefferson or our other Founding Fathers. A refresher course on Our Founding Principles would greatly improve the quality of government in Georgia! The politically correct will throw a tizzy fit over this suggestion, most of the Founding Fathers were Southern.
