Chicken Little Perdue flagging, number 29 in Macon ...
Steve Scroggins' report
A good crew I estimated at fifteen to twenty flaggers assembled at Central City Park in Macon around 5:30pm in anticipation of the
6pm arrival of Spineless Perdue. Many of those present had spent part of the day earlier Flagging Traitor Terry Coleman just a mile
away at the Macon Coliseum including Lijah's crew (Janet Baber, Norm Black & others), Wayne Gilstrap and Pete Giddens. There
was at least 5-8 new folks, including a contingent from the Bibb Chapter of the League of the South, Russ Huffman, Wayne Gilstrap's
brother and the Scroggins boys among others.
It had been reported in the newspaper that Perdue would pose for photos with children
and the Macon Peaches mascot, "Fuzzy" starting at 6pm. Captain Pete Giddens was ready to deploy the Zeppelin Division's flagship aircraft,
"Fowlinator I" however, the weather was not cooperating. The wind was picking up and a wicked looking storm was coming in from
the north I had just driven through a downpour coming from the north side of town but it wasn't raining at the park yet. We were
initially going to deploy at the junction of the two roads leading into the Park and to Luther Williams field. But since we knew Perdue
was coming in by helicopter, we decided we wanted to deploy where Perdue would see us as well as everyone entering Luther Williams park, right in front of the entrance to the ballpark.
As we started setting up the dark clouds moved in, the brisk breeze had the flags snapping gloriously. There were a few rain drops in
the air, so I had stored my camera in the car. At the sound of an approaching helicopter from the west-northwest, I scrambled to my
car to get the camera. Despite the threatening weather, all the flaggers were ready to stand and be seen. His helicopter circled
around to the north over the river, then came in over softball field #5 as the dark clouds moved in. It was evident that the wind was
giving the pilot fits, but he set it down smoothly on the field. The governor and his entourage exited the helo and the helo took off to
refuel. The 13WMAZ news crew was on hand to record the scene as was our friend, James Bruce, producer of The Southern Chronicle, aired twice weekly on Cox Channel 18. There was local news coverage at 6pm (the Coleman flagging) and at 11pm, they
showed footage from both the Coleman flagging and the Perdue flagging.
The governor's entourage walked the short distance from the softball field to Luther Williams Park and along the way got a good
eyeful of our beautiful flags. He was wearing a very appropriate yellow shirt. He ducked inside the gate and fence enclosing the ball
park, then walked around to the player's locker room. As he passed near us (though behind the fence), he got an eyeful of our crew's
flags and waved. There were many shouts of "SHAME on you Governor", "LET US VOTE! LET US VOTE!" and so forth.
After he ducked out of sight into the bowels of the stadium, as if on cue, the rain started. Many of us decided the better part of valor
was to stay somewhat dry, so we dashed for our cars in the nearby parking lot. The well-prepared or more hardy types, retrieved
their rain-suits and stood on station or just decided to get wet. Many of us waited 30 minutes to an hour for the rain to slack off, but
it alternated from a heavy drizzle to a downpour...and the lightning continued from just after to 6pm to 7pm. At 7pm, the last of us
decided to retire and flag the Spineless Chicken another day. The game was rained out.

Lijah Coleman's report
Perdue the Liar Flagging #29 Macon This flagging was a major success as about 18 of us caught Perdue at the Macon ball field. While in his copter, Perdue saw the huge array of Peoples' Georgia flags and his personal flaggers. But when he got out of
the copter, he was met by Janet Baber and a few of our strong minded compatriots who gave him his due. The blimp could not be
launched today because of the storm and later rain-out. Our friends came from all over Georgia. We all felt this was one of our best
flaggings, and with TV coverage. These two flaggings had the entire area covered red with our flags. With the extra time between the
flaggings, we had a good meal, visited Griswaldville Battlefield, and saw some sights. There is not a one of us who knows all of the
new flaggers. This is good fellowship by those of us who wish to make a difference.
Flagging of Coleman, Birdsong and other Scalawags in Macon. Two TV stations [Fox24 & 13WMAZ] covered our flagging and also one
newspaper. Speaker Coleman drove completely around the building to avoid meeting his 15 protestors. For him, it will only get
worse, because we are picking up new flaggers every week. We need to thank Pete Giddens for installing the props and bringing the
blimp. Our friends may be able to flag Perdue The Liar tomorrow in Roberta. Please let us know how it goes.
