Scala-Rag Coleman flagging -  Macon, public response very positive ...

terry coleman flaggingA good flagging for Terry Coleman was held today in Macon. Coleman acknowledged what he called his "fan club" outside during his remarks to the Exchange Club. Other Scalawags were present including Rep. Ken Birdsong, Sen. Robert Brown, Rep. Ray of Fort Valley, Rep. Curtis Jenkins of Forsyth, Rep. Lucas of Macon and others.

Then when it came time to leave, Coleman's driver took him out the main entrance to avoid an encounter with his fans who were waiting with flags and "Coleman is a Crook" signs. There were many many honks, waves and thumbs up from the passing traffic. As usual the response from the public was very positive!

Pete G was the Man with his Coleman signs and Lijah Coleman was on hand with his Perdue puppet. Norm Black, Janet Baber, Jim Woods, Robert Gilstrap (of Albany), Bud Cranford and several other fellows whose names escape me (my apologies).

The newspaper, a capitol reporter, the 13 WMAZ cameraman were all on hand to get footage of the action outside and inside. It was a good flagging and Coleman definitely noticed. His driver was concerned for Coleman's safety and called the Macon police. Of course, the crew on site was no threat to anyone, but would have given Coleman a piece of their minds had he the nerve to drive past them.
