Hypocrites of the Month ... Senator "Hypocrite" Balfour won this award for May for putting a poll on his web-site to vote on Our State Flag, immediately after voting to deny you the same right at the polls. Within 48 hours of receiving this dubious award his web-site pulled the poll. For June the award goes not to just one individual but to six members of the State House of Representatives;
These are the sponsors of HB 885 - the so-called Nondiscrimination Act of 2003. This bill, which is still active and available for action next January, demonstrates the hypocrisy of the politically correct. The politically correct preach "tolerance" but practice intolerance! Nothing but hypocrites. The politically correct preach "diversity" but practice elimination of any cultural value(s) which they consider politically incorrect. All six of these Representatives, if unchecked, will force their personal liberal agenda on the people of Georgia and that includes you. In typical politically correct style, they denied you the right to vote on Our State Flag, simply because they did not think that you would vote their way. Of course they do not consider this discrimination, because any body that holds any opposing views just does not count. Now by submitting this bill they want to carry their control of your life one step further. This bill would make you a criminal, if you violate their "perception" of political correctness! Believe it or not this bill would make "or the perception thereof," a criminal offense! Upon the claim of an individual you can be brought before a "Commission on Equal Opportunity" which will have the full power of the State (read YOUR tax dollars at work) to reach a settlement for something that has not happened yet: "by conference, conciliation, and persuasion." In addition to being subjected to persuasion - "All records of the commission shall be kept confidential and shall not be disclosed ..." Just as these politically correct hypocrites saw nothing wrong with settling (in their minds) your Flag in secret meetings of what we have called the House of Lords, they now want to give another secret group enormous power over your life. Just as this year they disenfranchised a large portion of Georgia's population, if they are not stopped, your turn will come, even if you do not care about the State Flag. In November 2004 you can exercise persuasion of your own, by retiring these six from the Legislature.
