Atlanta Chamber shows contempt for
the citizens of Georgia ...
While we do not always agree with everything in the Georgia
Political Underground, it sure does a good job of reporting the news. This
issue (below) brings up some very interesting items, on which we will add
a few comments.
The story presented below about the wheeling and dealing to deny the
citizens of Georgia a vote in exchange for a tobacco tax needs some
further documentation. The GPU is correct but does not report the extent
to which Senator Tom Price (and Republican leadership) was involved, remember that he was the
Republican Senate Majority Leader at the time.
As the GPU reports Tom Price did not follow through with the stated
plan of engrossing HB380. Now for those who do not know what engrossing
means a brief explanation is in order. When a bill is engrossed in either
the House or Senate - it means that it can only be voted up or down - it
can NOT be changed. Thus the plan was to engross the bill, where it should
have easily passed in a Republican controlled Senate. Remember that the
Republican Governor Sonny Perdue had promised a Vote on the 56 Flag to get
elected and was telling people that he supported his own referendum bill.
The bill, with a Vote for the People, passed the House by a
surprising 111 - 67 (62%) margin and just minutes later Senator Price
submitted a letter of intent to engross - meeting the midnight deadline.
This document is a matter of public record, and can be obtained by
contacting the Senate Clerk's office (which I have done). Then the bill is
"read" three times and within that time frame the actual motion to engross
has to be made. It was not done, Senator Price did not follow through.
Calls to his office during the next few days to find out why, to
find out what was going on were not returned.
But you can see the hand writing on the wall, look at Amendment 15
when it came before the Senate. This was an amendment to REMOVE the right
of the People to Vote of Our Flag. Senator Price voted for this amendment
twice.
Then a few days later Tom Price was quoted when he publicly offered
an undisclosed "deal" to the Atlanta Chamber, politically correct and
black caucus.
Look at their own words though, first from Democrat Smyre:
Democrats have today to pull together a winning coalition.
"Right now, there is no deal," said House Caucus Chairman Calvin Smyre
of Columbus, who is also chairman of the state Democratic Party.
Then look at this from Republican Senate Majority Leader Price
speaking about Smyre's attempts to eliminate Our Vote:
But if the effort is successful, Senate
Majority Leader Tom Price said his chamber is willing to go along.
He and six other Republicans voted against the same portion of the
Perdue referendum this week.
Of course we know the rest. Georgians were determined unworthy of
voting on their State flag, but suitable to pay higher taxes.
Now fast forward to today. The Georgia Flag FAIR Vote Act has been
proposed by the Georgia Heritage Council. The Republican Senate is
holding up progress on a FAIR referendum, that would let Georgians vote on
ALL THREE FLAGS. Now these same Republicans whine that it was the
Democrats, the dirty Democrats did it! If you believe this - reread the
section above about the Republican controlled Senate and the actions of
the Republican Majority Leader.
The Republicans whine that Sonny did not LIE. But where is Sonny
today when he has the opportunity to support the Georgia Flag FAIR Vote
Act? Well Sonny, your silence is deafening! Your lack of support for
letting the People Vote tells the story doesn't it?
Well the Republican Senate has been given a
second chance to see if they would represent the People or if they would
stay in the hip pocket of the Atlanta Chamber, politically correct and
black caucus.
So far the Chamber rules, Georgia drools!
Now 75% of elected Republicans did not support this unholy collusion
of Republican leadership, Atlanta Chamber, politically correct and black
caucus. Your support has been noted, but if you are members of a
Democratic Senate next year you will be losers too.
Anyway, we hope that you enjoy the latest Georgia Political
Underground.

Chamber of Commerce allocates
$200,000 to the Black community?
(and for what? Yep you guessed
it.)
The below was sent to us
via email with the provision that the source be kept anonymous:
Rumor has it, and this rumor comes from a third party by the way
of that great bastion of, of, of whatever it is that Bill Shipp
does that.........,
The Atlanta Chamber of Commerce is
terrified that
the flaggers will gang up to vote for the Barnes rag and thereby
keep the issue alive by aggravating everyone who knows that flag
is awful.
Therefore, the Chamber of Commerce have allocated $200K (that's
$200,000.00) for the Black community ("walking around money") to
get out the vote FOR THE PERDUE FLAG! The GOP's
flag of Republican Supremacy!!!
So these morons think that we will vote for a flag we hate so
they will bribe the Blacks to vote for a Flag they don't like to
stop us.
Is this a great country or what?
I propose we tell the Chamber that for $100,000 we will just
suggest (as we already have) that voters not vote for either
banner. :)
What fools these mortals be!
So who is the Chamber of Commerce? Why that would be
that great kind gentleman owner of the Atlanta Falcons Arthur
Blank. The one and the same that has twice been sued for sexual
harassing women, and twice he has settled out of court for sums
totaling over $100 million dollars. (That's 100 million
dollars that Arthur Blank has paid in out of court settlements
for alleged sexual harassing of women.) What a great guy this
Arthur Blank. He must be a democrat. If not the women's groups
and the liberal press would be ripping him apart if he was a
republican. Tell me that "ain't" so. But nobody ever says
anything. Not a word. He keeps showing up at dinners and
speeches and people keep applauding him, and Governor Perdue
keeps taking his money. STRANGE INDEED!
Editors note: Ain't
it just great how the people with all the money rule politics?
Well not much longer. Take a look below as to what happens when
one spouts off his mouth in the Associated Press about how
little political capitol one has. We
here at the GPU decided to publish the email and photos sent
this time, because this time the signs are real, legitimate, and
not a homemade prototype that doesn't prove the real ones were
coming. Well, its obvious, they have. Here they are. Politics is
about to get real nasty in House district 26.

Subject: Glenn Richardson sign photo
Dear GPU editor.,
You have my permission to publish
this photo and email. State Rep.Glenn Richardson is about to
find out what happens when you backstab and lie to your
hardest workers. Its called political pain and misery. For his
stupid comments in the Associated Press about the flaggers
being a legend in their own minds in terms of the political
capitol that they have, and for his very immature behavior in
public in Dallas 2 weeks ago, here comes some political pain
and misery, or at the very least some embarrassment. People
should expect better out of elected state leaders, especially
ones appointed by the Governor to high leaderships positions
in the state house. Glenn Richardson's behavior in Dallas 2
weeks ago, and his ill advised comments to the Associated
Press makes you wonder if Republican State Rep. Glenn
Richardson has the sufficient mental requirements and maturity
of age for the job at hand.
The democrats must be sitting back
laughing themselves silly on one hand, and on the other
hand worrying themselves sick that the stupid party might yet
try to make up with their most erstwhile supporters one day.
These signs will be placed across the 26th house district
only, a few here and a few there at major road
intersections and in front of shopping centers. The misery
will be long, slow and painful as it is doled out a little at
a time in the coming months.
Political Hell is coming, this is
just the beginning.........................STAY TUNED!
Editors note: Below is the picture that
came attached to the above email. Obviously these signs are
very REAL, and are very professionally made, have no
connection to the Georgia flag, and are in my opinion designed
purely to draw public embarrassment to Glenn Richardson. The
question is, "Whose Next?"
Speaking of signs, here is another rumor.
Rumor has it that the some of the flaggers intend to purchase
10's 0f 1000's, (no exact figure was given) of
BUSH LIED signs. We
published a prototype many months ago. Here it is again.
Can you picture 1000's of these
BUSH LIED signs covering the major interstates
around the city of Atlanta the months of September and October?
From Friday's AJC:
Bush's support
falling sharply, new poll shows
(Editors
note: because he LIED. People are feed up with lying
politicians and no one votes for a LIAR. Like BUSH and PERDUE.)
Associated Press
Published on: 02/06/04
WASHINGTON --
President Bush's public support dropped sharply over the past
month, especially among older voters, political
independents and people in the Midwest, an Associated Press poll
found.
And
for the first time, more voters in this poll's
two years of tracking the question said they would definitely
vote against Bush than said they would definitely vote for him.
Bush's approval rating stood at 47 percent in the AP-Ipsos poll
taken in early February, down from 56 percent approval just a
month ago. Half, or 50 percent, said they disapproved in the
latest poll.
The poll findings marked a difficult month for Bush, as public
attention focused on the Democratic presidential primary and the
Democrats' daily bashing of the incumbent. The survey came at a
time when the public is nervous about the economy and the chief
adviser to the administration on Iraqi weapons,
David Kay, said last month "we were all
wrong" about Iraq's weapons of mass destruction.
Bush's 47 percent approval rating is the same as his father's at
this stage in his presidency 12 years ago before he lost to Bill
Clinton.
Just under four in 10, 37 percent, said they would definitely
vote to re-elect Bush as president,
while 43 percent said they would definitely vote for
someone else, according to the poll conducted
for the AP by Ipsos-Public Affairs. Another 18 percent said they
would consider voting for someone else.
Other recent polls have shown Democratic front-runner John Kerry
with an advantage over Bush in a head-to-head matchup.
BYE-BYE BUSH LIED and
NO Republican president to campaign for Sonny in 2006. In fact,
the very opposite. A democrat to campaign for Mark Taylor or
Cathy Cox or some democrat.
IM about to do a very nauseating thing. Im
going to the polls on March 2nd, and while holding my nose, Im
going to vote for that BLUE
rag an am encouraging others to do likewise.
Wouldn't it be funny if the BLUE rag won?
What would Perdue and the state legislature do? Their not
legally obligated to do anything, but if the don't put the BLUE
BUTT wiper back up, then the entire state will know the whole
referendum thing was Bogus. If the GOP has to take down their
Flag of Republican supremacy, the ultimate embarrassment for
Perdue. I don't think for one minute Perdue will ever put the
Blue butt wiper back up, even if it wins. What a pickle. Its
going to be fun to see how it plays out.
How the GOP blew it
(the exact dates)
On 4/08/03 Senator Tom Price gave
"Notice of Motion to Engross" HB 380, which was filed in the
Senate with the Secretary of the Senate at 11:49 p.m.
05/08/03 - HB 380 Signed by
Governor sealing the fate of the GOP
No one, No one has yet been able to explain why Senator Tom
Price failed to follow thru with the motion to engross HB
380 and then why Senator Price suddenly led the movement in
the senate to remove the July portion of the referendum.
Wasn't he suppose to be doing Sonny's work? Why the sudden
change of heart? This is one question I would really like
answered, that never will be.
When HB380 came first out of the house 111/67,
the black caucus was effectively split form the middle and
south Georgia democrats. The democratic party was FUBAR in
the house. Think not? Then why did Calvin Smyre state,
"Terry Coleman reunited us with his vote?" How could they
have been reunited if they were not previously divided? But
by the actions of Tom Price and the GOP senate, they gave
the ball back to the democratic house and by their own
actions allowed the democratic party to reunite,
which they did. HOW STUPID can you get? I will NEVER EVER
understand that one. Can anyone explain to me why the GOP
allowed the democratic house the opportunity to reunite?
STUPID STUPID STUPID. The GOP finally had the constantly
whining and crying black caucus hung out to dry from the
majority of the democratic party, and let them back in the
game. STUPID STUPID STUPID!
Now the stupid party has set up a flag
referendum where it will be by a majority of democrats that
determines the states flag? STUPID STUPID STUPID.
Capitol Gang Recognition
Anybody watch the "Capitol Gang" this past
Sunday morning? On their Winners and losers segment, guess who
was picked as the "winners"?
The "flaggers" was Rick Allen's
winner of the week. He said:
"My winner of the week, the
flaggers, who was once the most obscure fringe group
imaginable, and now because of the demographics of the
upcoming straw poll on the state flag, they may reopen that
entire issue. I hope they don't, but they might."
Our "political"
crystal Ball
The March 2nd referendum brings about the return of the BLUE
butt wiper, or at least it wins the phony referendum. I
don't think we will ever see it go back up irregardless.
November 2, 2004 will see the end of the republican party
controlling the state senate, and George W. gets booted the
same day.
Poor ole Sonny Perdue will continue his behind the scenes
efforts to stop the flaggings. He continues to do that
today, but no one he is talking to has any influence to stop
the street activists. Only the street activists can stop the
street activists.
The big guy, even bigger by then is sworn is as Georgia's
next Governor and the Stupid Party's legacy is forever
sealed in Georgia state politics.
And if the Perdue flag wins? Doesn't really matter. It wont
magically change anything. The flaggins will continue, the
SONNY LIED signs will keep going back up, in fact the public
will be even more convinced that SONNY LIED, for he NEVER
campaigned on cramming an all new flag design down anybody's
throat. Its only a matter of time............
IM voting
BLUE, on
March 2nd, and am encouraging everyone else to do likewise.
Lets see how they deal with it...............,irregardless
of the outcome,
"We will not accept this result as final. We
will keep our anger alive. WE will be grim and unconvinced,
and we will wear our bitterness like a medal."
