There they go again ... Oman
Expensive Trade Agreement passed
Virtually one year after CAFTA passed the U.S. House of
Representatives the same body voted on another Expensive Trade
Agreement. With Oman - this time. And once again it passed the
expensive trade agreement. Since NAFTA in 1992 every expensive trade
agreement has passed both the U.S. House and the U. S. Senate.
Thought some folks in Georgia might be interested in how our
Congressional delegation voted this time.

The following table is the recorded vote for CAFTA and Oman
Expensive Trade Agreementby the Georgia
Delegation.
Republicans Jack Kingston, Tom Price, John Linder
and Lynn Westmoreland have voted for BOTH! They need to be retired
from public service so they can go work for the special interests
they represent. Sadly the Republican Party has just supported Tom
Price in the Republican Primary on July 18 when they had the
opportunity to retire him.
The Georgia Republican Party is sending a message
to all Georgians who are opposed to the never ending stream of
expensive trade agreements. You are less important than the special
interests who are so much in favor of utilizing cheap labor and
letting you - the tax payers - pick up the social costs.
Voting yes were 199
Republicans and 22 Democrats.
Voting no were 176 Democrats, 28 Republicans and one independent.
This chart will be expanded to include all votes
on these job give away programs during this two year term - so that
you - the citizens can see how they voted. Then it is your turn. If
you send Republicans Jack Kingston, Tom Price, John Linder and Lynn
Westmoreland back to Washington - you are going to get more of the
same!
Special interests first -
citizens second or third.
While you are taking notes, Governor Perdue is a
supporter of the granddaddy of all expensive trade agreements - FTAA
- which is a major step in the Bush plan to eliminate the borders
with both Mexico and Canada. Just like Tom Price, the Republican
Party on the July 18 Primary nominated Sonny Perdue against an
opponent of more expensive trade agreements. Once again the Georgia
Republican Party speaks.
Special interests first -
citizens second or third.
